Obituary of Allison Maria Geimer

Allison Maria Geimer, 60, of Jefferson, WI, passed away at her home on Wednesday, March 27, 2024.

Allison was born in Madison, WI, on May 1, 1963, and grew up in Wauwatosa, WI, with her family. She went to Eisenhower Elementary and Longfellow Junior High School and moved to St. Coletta of Wisconsin in Jefferson, WI, in 1978 where she finished her schooling. She continued to live there for the next 46 years. She lived with her housemates and good friends, Heidi, Heather and Ann, in a group home for the last 21years. Most recently, Allison worked one day a week at Milk-Rite in Johnson Creek, WI, and enjoyed her job and co-workers.

Allison had an amazing memory and was a voracious reader, which meant she was excellent at trivia and her intellect could never be underestimated. Allison participated in Special Olympics events for many years and won numerous medals in cross country skiing and track and field which she proudly displayed.

Allison loved being with her friends and family and was always looking forward to her next adventure. She enjoyed traveling and took many trips with Able Trek Travel. She enjoyed going to baseball and hockey games and looked forward to the Wisconsin State Fair every year. She also loved playing solitaire on the iPad, bowling, watching movies with popcorn, dining out, doing puzzles, petting animals and listening to music (Barry Manilow was a favorite). She enjoyed going for walks, especially when the destination was near a Diet Coke machine.

Allison is survived by her brother, James Geimer and his wife Hilda Carrillo of Marin County, CA, her sister, Tracy Geimer of Chicago, IL, her aunts Kathy Laurenhue of Sarasota, FL, and Lou Lunn of Charlottesville, VA, her uncles Paul Pickel of Vero Beach, FL, and Gary Geimer of Maitland, FL, and many cousins and their families.

Allison was preceded in death by her parents Linda (Lunn) Geimer in 2002 and Dr. Nicholas Geimer in 2017 who were devoted to her care and success and were committed supporters of St. Coletta.

A Memorial Service for the St. Coletta community for Allison will be held on Thursday, April 25, 2024, at the St. Coletta Chapel with a visitation starting at 12:00 and service at 1:00pm. 

A brief burial service will be held on Friday, April 26, 2024 at Christ Church, 5655 N. Lake Drive, Whitefish Bay, WI 53217 at 4:00 PM with a reception at The Town Club, 7950 N. Santa Monica Blvd., Fox Point, WI 53217, starting at 4:30.  Friends and family are welcome.
